First Hurst made the bold and exciting step, with the guidance of the Songhai Team, to hire Laoualy Abdoulkarim as our Mehanna Road full time discipler. Laoualy (on the right in the photo) is a 28 year old, impressive and solid, first generation African Christian. Under the direction and supervision of First Hurst, Laoualy will spend three weeks a month on the Mehanna Road with the believers as a discipler. The discipleship plan, a true learn as you go endeavour for us, will be communicated to Lauoly and reinforced and guided by each team that comes. He will spend his off week in Niamey resting and EATING! He will start his position on February 1, 2008.
Laoualy will face tremendous persecution and difficulties as a believer and a single young man on the road. He will truly stand in the gap for the believers and First Hurst on the road between our trips. Please add Laoualy to your daily prayer for the salvation of the Songhai on the Mehanna Road.
